Hajjah Melati Abdul Hai joined McDonald’s Malaysia as the Head of Marketing in 2010 and advanced to the role of Senior Director of Marketing and Communications in 2014. In 2018, she was appointed Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer (VP - CMO), where she oversees the company’s marketing, communications, strategy & insights, digital, and guest relations teams. She has over 20 years of experience in the FMCG industry.

Melati provides strategic leadership, steering consumer-centric planning and driving the overall growth and business agenda for the Malaysian market. She leads teams responsible for planning and executing marketing, promotions, and communications initiatives that drive guest visits and significantly grow market share. Her leadership has led to numerous successful marketing and brand campaigns, enhancing brand resonance and propelling business growth year-on-year. Melati is deeply involved in driving brand trust and community engagement efforts, which are close to her heart.

Under Melati’s leadership, McDonald's Malaysia has garnered various marketing and communication awards, reflecting her exceptional contributions to the field. Notably, she was recently honored with the 2023 Malaysian CMO Award organized by Marketing Magazine.

Melati graduated from Boston University with a degree in Economics.
