This person gave me chances to know my own capability ; this person showed patience whenever I did something incorrect, and repeat the right one again together with me ; this person gave me warmth when I was upset about the unsatisfied result ; this person concerns about my study and everyday life experiences. She is Madam Chung Sze Meang. When I was in Form 2, she approached me and invited me to take part in Dino Tract competition. Me, being a non-experienced young girl, was strongly encouraged by her and took part in the competition. The next year, she gave me chance and trained me for an innovation competition. Throughout nights, we stayed together, and innovated our special project. Being afraid of presentation, I had been failing on memorising my script, especially when I had to perform in front of people. It was her, Madam Chung, who did not give up on me from the beginning. She kept on encouraging me to be brave, telling me that I can do it. She spent most of her time, regardless her busy teaching life, training me on memorising the script better. We did quite well in that competition, but still, did not manage to get champion. I was very upset, shedding tears. She held her tears, and hugged me tightly. I was encouraged and touched by the supportive teacher. Since that, we took part in Petrosains competition, The World Young Inventors Challenge, Green Technology and STEM Project Showcase. We did better and better, honouring school by winning many awards. When there is no one who is willing to stand out and starts the step of leading students towards innovation area, Madam Chung is the one, who spends most of her time, doing research on this area, and training students to get involved in this area of competition. She has opened up many opportunities for my batch and my juniors' batch to get involved in innovation area. We would not know that we are talented in presentation and innovation, if it was not Madam Chung who started this leading action. Our very first Innovation Club was also founded by Madam Chung in 2016. My school was a small and unknown school, located in a town in Kuching, Sarawak. However, it has started to become well-known in innovation area, when Madam Chung started to get it involved in all kinds of competition. She gives life to innovation in our school, and she gives hope to many talented students as well. I have been graduated from SMK Lake for 2 years, and is no longer qualified to take part in any innovation competition held for secondary category. But still, Madam Chung concern about my current situation from time to time, making sure that I am satisfied about my new life. I have been hoping to thank her in a special way. And now, by means of Anugerah Guru Inspirasi, I would like to say, "It was you, who gives me inspiration and motivation to study harder, to be like you, a person who can motivate people by strength. Thank you for giving me unforgettable experiences in secondary school life, thank you for being part of my life!"
