Kuala Lumpur, 15 June 2016 – McDonald's® Malaysia will be marking the Ramadan observance with a series of activities nationwide to commemorate this holy month of self-reflection and spiritual rejuvenation. For the third year running, McDonald's® Malaysia will be sponsoring McChicken burgers and apple pies once a week to 91 mosques across the nation for after prayer meals or moreh. This time around, McDonald's® has also extended its moreh sponsorship to mosques of 15 public universities nationwide.

“In our 34 years in Malaysia, McDonald's® has witnessed that Ramadan brings out the best in us. We at McDonald's® are proud to continue doing our part in the community through initiatives that bring us closer to them. The act of selflessness and compassion reflects the true meaning of Ramadan,” said Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director of McDonald's® Malaysia.

Ramadan is an opportune time to give back to the community and McDonald's® is just doing that by offering 30,000 sets of complimentary dates and drinking water during rush hour to commuters at five Putra LRT stations twice a week from 8 June – 20 June 2016.

What’s more, over 100 children in need will be treated to an evening of festive cheer including a shopping spree for baju raya and school necessities as well as a scrumptious Iftar dinner organized for the children from Rumah Anak Yatim Nur Iman, Rumah Anak Yatim & Miskin D’Nasti and Rumah Anak Yatim & Miskin Baitul Husna.
