434 Children Treated To Fun Outing And Movie Treat
News Article from The Star Online
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and McDonald's® Malaysia recently treated 434 children and their guardians from 16 orphanages to food and fun with special screenings of the Angry Birds Movie at several venues in Penang, Selangor and Johor.
Before the screening, RMHC presented RM5,000 to each home, with the total donation coming to RM80,000.
At the screening in Selangor, RMHC president Victor Sim said the event was one of many that RMHC was embarking on in its collaboration with McDonald's® Malaysia to reach out to underprivileged children.
Since 1990, we have raised more than RM14mil to fund programmes, thanks to the generosity of Malaysians. These funds have gone on to positively impact young lives in the areas of health, education and welfare, said Sim.
We certainly hope that Malaysians will continue to support RMHC in enriching these childrens lives.
After the movie, the children were treated to a scrumptious meal sponsored by McDonald's® Malaysia.
RMHC has been our charity of choice for more than 25 years. We are strong believers in the work that they do and we are very happy to have been a part of this fun-filled event, said McDonald's® Malaysia managing director Azmir Jaafar.
It truly gives us much joy to interact with the children and to see the smiles on their faces. We look forward to continuing our support for RMHC and the wonderful work that they do in the years to come, he added.
